THE BUTCHER BOY

Synopsis:

Seen through the eyes of Francis Brady comes the dark but comical and innocent narration of his life. Set in the 60's small town of Monaghan, Ireland, Francis as a small boy, relates his story of an alcoholic and abusive father and a mother who is steadily losing control on reality. When his family starts to fall apart and his friendship with his best friend disintegrates Francis is convinced the blame lies fair and square on the shoulders of his nosey, malicious neighbour, Mrs Nugent. As his frustration spirals into violence, Francis quickly loses sight of reality in his quest for revenge.
