Max Brackett, a once highflying New York investigative reporter is looking for his ticket back into the media spotlight. Whilst reporting on cut backs at a local museum in a small town in California, Max stumbles onto a potentially explosive story. Sam, a former security guard, appears at the museum trying to get his job back. When this fails, he takes his ex-boss and the children who are visiting the museum, hostage. A tragedy appears imminent, but Max sees this as a national story and within hours he has the entire nation watching the drama unfold. Both men, fighting for their careers, are determined someone will listen.
